IT Support Engineer

CommGate is hiring a IT Support Engineer.

 Roles and Responsibilities
  1. To provide telephone and on-site technical support.
  2. To install, configure and administer IT products.
  3. To provide Level-1 and Level-2 product support and resolutions.
  4. To provide telephone support for cloud, server, network and desktop applications.
  5. To prepare, update and manage system and network documentations.
  6. To update internal knowledgebase system on common support issues.
  7. To operate internal support portal.
  8. To maintain and support internal servers, storage systems, network and desktops (Mac OS X & Windows).
  9. To coordinate with product vendors to resolve software and hardware issues.
 Qualification and Education Requirements
  1. Diploma in Information Technology.
  2. Professional IT qualifications and certifications will be an added advantage.
  3. Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply (Singaporean, Permanent Resident and Malaysian only).
 Preferred Skills
  1. Must have a minimum of 1 year working experience in providing post-sales technical support in the IT industry.
  2. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows desktop operating system and applications with knowledge in basic TCP/IP networking.
  3. Knowledge in Microsoft Windows and Linux server operating system will be an added advantage.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Windows Vista/ Windows XP / Microsoft Office.
  5. Knowledge of Linux and exposure to Open Source Software such as Postfix, Apache, Dansguardian, Squid, MySQL, ISC DHCP, ISC Bind, SpamAssassin, ClamAV, PHP, OpenLDAP, Samba and other GNU tools will be an added advantage.
  6. Able to travel within Asia and willing to work on weekends and rotating shifts (when necessary).
  7. Competent in helpdesk operations, remote technical diagnostics and analysis and able to provide guidance and technical support in a very clear and concise manner.
  8. Applicant must have good communication skills, a positive attitude, and should be passionate for his role and responsibilities.
  9. Applicant must be resourceful and able to work with minimum supervision.
  10. Applicant will be tested on his/her knowledge on the various Windows, Linux and Open Source Software on his/her technical competency skills to diagnose and solve technical issues.
  11. Possessing MCSA/MCSE/RHCA/RHCE/CCNA certifications is an added advantage.
  12. Good spoken and written English.
  13. Meticulous and detailed.
  14. This is a 1-year contract position with an option to convert to a permanent position.

 Position Overview

You will be sharing the company’s complete product and service offering to its prospects and existing customers. You shall have a focus on penetrating certain assigned customers with substantial growth opportunity. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be provided with sales and products training to be productive and efficient. You will be interacting with customers and prospects through telephone and face-to-face meetings. You will be responsible for achieving an assigned sales and profit goal.

 Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Generate cold leads and follow-up on hot leads
  2. Follow a check-list to generate quotations from CRM system
  3. Progress quotes and close sales with support from Sales Manager with Pre-sales technical support
  4. Cultivate customer relationship and selling new or additional products or services to current buyers;
  5. Take ownership for sales negotiation and closing the deal
  6. Keep the CRM sales database updated
 Requirements
  1. Proven sales experience (min. 1-year) selling into Small Medium Businesses and Regional MNC HQs
  2. Basic understanding of Information Systems, Networking and Internet technologies
  3. Diploma or Bachelor Degree preferred
  4. Confident, self-motivated, driven and passionate about business solutions
  5. Fast learner and enjoy meeting people
  6. Have good ability to build rapport and develop trust
  7. Thrives in a fast paced environment
